Campus Climate Concern Form

While freedom of expression and the open exchange of ideas are important to the University of Mississippi, actions and behaviors that are bias-motivated, prejudiced, or otherwise disrespectful can negatively impact individuals or groups.

Members of the university community who have experienced or witnessed perceived/alleged bias incidents are encouraged to complete this reporting form. The form will give you the opportunity to share the details of the incident including the impact it has had on you and/or others. The Bias Education & Response Team (BERT) will review all submissions to determine appropriate next steps. Our priority is connecting those who have been impacted by bias incidents to the appropriate resources and support.

BERT is not an investigative, adjudicatory, or disciplinary body and does not function in lieu of any disciplinary or complaint processes within or outside of the University.

UMatter: Student Support & Advocacy exists to support students facing a variety of challenges. Students work with our case managers to find resources and plan next steps to reach their personal and academic goals. So, whether your grades are struggling, a major life event has occurred, or you just need someone to help guide you towards resources, we are here to help!

Scope of Service:

1. Respond to concerns from the campus community about students in distress.
2. Promote campus community health and safety through targeted outreach and education focused on student care concerns.
3. Advocate individually and systemically for students who are experiencing challenges. Advocates connect students with partners, both on and off campus, guide them through processes, and empower them to advocate for themselves.
4. Provides resources for responding parties involved in Title IX investigations and Title IX-related concerns.
5. Foster resilience and self-advocacy in students through effective case management.
6. Coordinate student reporting channels for on- and off-campus issues.

Violence Intervention and Prevention

Violence Intervention and Prevention: Survivor Support Services promotes awareness of the realities of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking. Staff and peer educators provide education and training for students, faculty and staff concerning these topics. The office provides confidential advocacy to assist victim-survivors of these incidents and serves as a liaison between the University and local resource groups.
